The Eldin Forest Project
Once a vibrant community for Blacks, Hispanics and Immigrants of all kinds systemic injustice and disinvestment has pushed Kansas City, Kansas to a state of disrepair. What remains today is a fragmented community with severely limited access to fresh food and outdoor spaces. The Eldin Urban Forest Project is a proposed reforestation of the Jersey Creek Trail and the establishment of a cafe, live work space, and housing to bridge a broken section of the trail. The residences will be occupied by caretakers, who will manage both the urban forest and the reforestation project, providing jobs and stimulating economic activity.

Reforestation along the jersey creek trail begins at the Nursery.
